Gross Motor Development

Hello friends 🙂

Today I’ll dive a bit more into gross motor development.

Gross motor development is reflected through 4 basic capacities:

  • flexibility
  • balance
  • agility
  • force

Flexibility entails children being physically more elastic than they were in early childhood. They are now able to execute tumbling routines and jump over hurdles. Balance supports many athletic sports like running, jumping, skipping throwing and rapid changes in direction. Agility means that quicker and more accurate movements occur. There you have it folks! The 4 basic elements of gross motor development.

That’s a wrap guys! Read my next post on fine motor development.

Adios! ♥
